Mocks 1 to 4 are taken directly from the official GATE 2026 mock test page of IIT Guwahati and the official GATE 2025 mock test page of IIT Roorkee. The official sites of older years no longer list their mock links, so mocks 5 to 12 come from links shared when those exams ran. If any link stops opening, try it in another browser before giving up on it.
There is no GATE 2024 CS mock in this list, because the GATE 2024 mock page no longer shows its links. The GATE 2027 row at the top is a placeholder: IIT Madras has not yet published its mock links, and we will add the link there the day it goes live. When it does, it becomes the most important test on your list.
What the GATE CSE Mock Test Interface Teaches You That a Book Cannot
A GATE CSE Mock Test is not only about questions. It trains you on the screen you will sit in front of for 3 hours. If you see this window for the first time on exam day, you spend precious minutes just learning where things are.
The question palette on the right is the part most students misread. Each question number changes colour based on what you did with it:

The last row is where marks are lost by habit. An answer you saved and flagged still counts, so a wrong guess you meant to revisit can still cost you negative marks if you run out of time. Use your GATE CSE Mock Test attempts to build the habit of clearing a response you are unsure about.

Your 12-Week GATE CSE Mock Test Plan, Plus the GATE 2027 Mock
12 GATE CSE Mock Test papers fit neatly into the 12 Sundays from 8 November to 24 January, and the official GATE 2027 mock takes the last slot. The plan moves from the oldest mock to the newest, so your toughest and most recent tests land closest to the exam. Take each one as a full 3-hour sitting at a fixed time, ideally the same slot as your GATE session.

The GATE 2027 mock is the only test in this plan built for your exam year, so take it within 2 days of its release, even if it falls on a weekday. After that, stop full-length tests and switch to light revision. If you are joining late, start from Mock 8 (2021) and work upward, because that is where the current question types begin. 3 Traps in Older GATE CSE Mock Test Papers
The older GATE CSE Mock Test papers are still worth your time, but you need to read them with the 2027 rules in mind.
Trap 1: No MSQs Before 2021
Multiple select questions (MSQs) entered GATE in 2021. The 2017 to 2020 GATE CSE Mock Test papers only have MCQs and NATs, so a high score on them can make you feel safer than you are. MSQs have no negative marks but also no partial marks, so 1 missed option means 0.
Trap 2: Topics That Left the 2027 Syllabus
IIT Madras rewrote 3 CSE sections for 2027. In Computer Networks, ARP, DHCP, ICMP, UDP, SMTP and FTP are no longer named, and disk questions from secondary storage have dropped out of COA. If an old GATE CSE Mock Test asks about these, solve it, but do not spend a revision day on it. The full list is in our GATE CSE syllabus 2027 guide.
Trap 3: Mock Difficulty Is Not Exam Difficulty
Official mocks were released to show the exam window, not to predict the paper. Do not read a low GATE CSE Mock Test score as a sign of failure, and do not relax after a high one. What matters is your trend across 12 tests.
How to Score Your GATE CSE Mock Test Like the Real Exam
Score every GATE CSE Mock Test with the same marking rules as GATE 2027: 65 questions, 100 marks, General Aptitude worth 15 marks, and negative marking only on wrong MCQs. The official mock pages make it clear that mock answers are not evaluated and no score card is generated, so keep a rough sheet of your answers and work out your marks with this formula:
Score = marks from correct answers − (1/3 × wrong 1-mark MCQs) − (2/3 × wrong 2-mark MCQs)

What GATE CSE Mock Test Score Should You Aim For?
The General category qualifying mark in GATE CSE was 27.6 in 2024, 29.2 in 2025 and 30 in 2026, as shown in our GATE CSE previous year cutoff analysis. Qualifying alone does not get you a good rank, so set your GATE CSE Mock Test targets well above it.

These are planning targets, not official numbers. If you are below them, the fix is usually in the review, not in taking more tests.
The 4-Step Review That Turns a GATE CSE Mock Test Into Marks
Spend at least as long reviewing a GATE CSE Mock Test as you spent taking it. Do the review on Monday, while the paper is still fresh.
- Sort every lost mark: put each wrong or skipped question into 1 of 3 groups: did not know the topic, knew it but made a silly error, or ran out of time.
- Fix the topic gaps: for every did-not-know question, go back to that chapter in your GATE CSE notes and solve 5 previous year questions on it before next Sunday.
- Write down silly errors: keep 1 page of repeat mistakes, such as reading the wrong unit, a missed MSQ option or a slip on the virtual calculator, and read it before each mock.
- Check your time map: note when you finished General Aptitude, when you reached question 40 and how many minutes were left at the end. Fix the slowest part first.

When Will the Official GATE 2027 CSE Mock Test Come Out?
IIT Madras has not announced a date yet. In past years, the organising institute posted mock test links for all papers on the official website a few weeks before the exam. GATE 2027 runs on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 February 2027, so keep checking the official GATE 2027 website in December and January. We will add the official GATE CSE Mock Test for 2027 to this page as soon as it is live.
